okay. this is my very first time managing a blog which isn't mine. i am not an expert in this really. so since i'm also responsible for the writing of articles to be published in the newspaper , i was thinking that maybe i can write about the trips that we have had and that we are gonna have ,INFORMALLY.. here based purely on my point of view and i will just copy paste the formal ones that i have published in the newspaper when they come out. sounds good?

Last Sunday , which was on the 24th of July 2011 , we jogging and hiking club members went for a trip to Bukit Teraja! With around less than ten teachers i think. A bus brought us there of course , but that bus , wasn't just any ordinary school bus. In fact , it wasn't even a school bus. it was sort of like a big tourist bus with adjustable chairs and also a television! We were all very comfortably seated in that bus. It was just right. So we departed from katok at 7 ish and arrived at the long house at 9 ish. Donations were given to the people living in the long house in the form of food and money. We also made very good use of the toilets available just outside the long house ;)

Okay this is really hard for me. Can i be a little bit personal here? I will be! We left the long house and arrived at the entrance to Bukit Teraja at 10 a.m. sharp , and I was scared alright. I was forewarned about the presence of leeches that would fall off randomly , unpredictably from trees and they were just gonna stick on your skin forever unless you burnt them away! That was one of the reasons why I was moving forward so fast , because I was aware that the more I was moving , the less chance leeches were gonna climb onto me , or something like that.

At 12 ish , we all reached the summit. We were literally gaping weren't we? i mean , some of us and i was one of them. to be so happy to reach the summit , so happy to witness the scenery of so much dragonflies flying across the sky. It sort of reminded me of the movie Avatar. Life , spirit , jungle and nature. I will upload the pictures soon , blogger uploader isn't working very well currently. So okay , after taking a short break , we moved backwards from where we came from. ups became downs , which was a good thing. Before we knew it , we had accomplished the highest hill in brunei BUKIT TERAJA! no more hill in Brunei that we can't climb now huh :)

After the hike , we went to wasai for lunch! almost every man took a bath and most of the women didn't hehehe :) different kind of foods were laid out on the table before us and we all ate with full appetite :) I was so curious how every food was gonna taste like so i think i tasted almost every food. well almost! i was that hungry. we left wasai at 2.55 a.m and arrived at katok again before 5.00 p.m.

It was overall a really fun but tiring trip. I slept more than ten times in the bus. The teachers were talking in front , women were mostly sleeping and the guys were singing at the back. it was fun. i wish to go there again next year hhehe :)

and ohh fatin and the ex president afiq got leeches on their skins :P

The Mighty Bukit Teraja!

Sorry for the delay in blog,I was busy and sick for a few days.Last Sunday on the 24th of July, the PTEK Jogging & Hiking club went to hiked Bukit Teraja, Belait. It all started when most of the students and teachers came around 6:30 in morning. All of them were excited about the prospect of this trip and hiking one of the tallest mountains in Brunei. As soon as we came, we all left with the bus around 7 AM.

The journey took almost 2 hours at least. We made a stop at the longhouse in Belait to donate some necessities to the people living in the longhouse. After that we continue the journey to Bukit Teraja. Once we reached there, we all gathered and pray for our safety. Once we're done and ready, the journey started there. It was tiring and challenging and the part of the hill is so steep. Part 1 of the hill was completed almost 2 hours. Before starting part 2 of the journey to Bukit Teraja, we decided to take a break because it's a tall hill.

Like the first part,part 2 is the most difficult part,especially getting to the summit. Have to go through obstacles and avoided thorns and leeches. It took us 2 hours to reach the summit and once we reached there, we were surrounded by dragonflies IF some of you noticed it.We took this opportunity to rest and take pictures.Once we're done, another 4 hours journey back to the starting point.

Journey back to the starting point was tiring for everyone. Most of us got hungry and thirsty ads well. Steep hills stood in our way but nothing can stop our desires to go back to the starting point and devour our cuisine! All of us were worn out and relieved when we reached the starting point especially I, Mohammad Mizwar was relieved. We entered the bus and went to the Wasai to change and had a little picnic. Everyone laughed and chatted with one another, it was a fun trip overall. Everyone enjoyed it. Once we all ate and changed our clothes, we packed out stuff and journey back to PTEK.

In the bus, well , most of us fell asleep but some lighten up the whole atmosphere by singing throughout the journey. Can tell they're not tired AT ALL. We all had fun at the end of the day. Everyone enjoyed this experience and hopefully one day we might hike Bukit Teraja again.

PTEK students hike up Bukit Shahbandar's 16 hills
By Caroline TCW Students of PTEK's Jogging and Hiking Club pose for a group photo. - CAROLINE TCW The Jogging and Hiking Club of Katok Sixth Form Centre (PTEK) recently ventured out to Bukit Shahbandar in an attempt to hike up all 16 hills. The excursion, which involved some 15 students and seven teachers, was accomplished in less than three hours after a 10-minute warming up period that was led by the club's new president, Sahli Salleh. The hike, which promptly began at 8am, took place on a beautiful day and students could hear the roar of jet engines as fighter planes flew back and forth across the blue sky. Taking into consideration the different strengths and weaknesses possessed by the hikers of the group, the outdoor activity was a good platform for cooperation between members of the club as they all aspired to conquer the 16 hills. Covered with perspiration and smiles, the hikers succeeded in scaling the final hill at around 10.45am. With a great sense of achievement, the hikers then proceeded to a teacher's residence for refreshments at the end of the trip.

Trip To Pudak

It's been awhile, yes, sorry to keep you waiting. On the last 12th June, JHC went to Kampong Pudak. Hiking and also, a little fun after that. Oh forgive me, it was awesome. The schedule were hiking, lunch, swimming, kayaking around the village and luckydraw.

We were told to come to school before 7 and went there using bus and boat. Met the 'ketua kampung' and then, hike! -_- yeah you get the point.

We stayed at Ketua Kampung's house for the day.

I took the liberty of my time to change the layout of this blog! It's not something new, I just changed the background and the colors so that it'll fit the image of our club! Another meeting was held today, at the same place and at the same time. We are still concern about our punctuality. Please be punctual next time. Cause we don't want you to miss out some important speech from the president and it may take time to repeat. -_-

So anyway, we'll be going to Teraja this Sunday, 25th April. 40 + people wanted to join :D We are not going to hike but walk to Wasai Teraja and to Wasai Belulok (sp?) and visit the Long House! :) For those who join, please bring goodies (seangkat angkat hati for the Ulu people - Mostly kids and Women) example : Food, Candies, Clothes, Toys, ANYTHING you want to donate! :D And then, we'll be having a picnic so don't forget to bring food supply FOR US! :P and extra clothes, and towel for your own. (jangan karang mengusut) :)

You must also bring enough water for your own as it will take 20 minutes to walk to each Wasai. And please be inform that Wasai Belulok is a scarce place to the 'ibanese' so we strongly advice for not taking pictures and yada yada yada (videos) there and publish it. PLEASE AND THANKYOU. Lastly, an extra concern to the girls who have their 'day' are advise to not come. :( We are sorry.

HELLO! :D I apologize for the late update :P (forgot actually) :S So anyway, we had a meeting last Wednesday on the 8th April and some briefing for hiking. There were some cancellation about the places and the dates for our activity this term.

We'll hike at Bukit Patoi some other day. I'm still waiting for the new time table from the president btw. The new members already started their hiking last weekend though not all were participating. (I didn't attend too :( ) but, a lot were participating! :D and IT WAS A VERY GOOD START! :D THANKYOU! :D

Our PA system is broken so you'll not hear any announcement for our club (maybe) :P we'll see. So, I hope you'll be attending every jogging session on THURSDAY! Same time, same place and please be punctual except for any other occasion that we need to cancel the session.

JOGGING HIKING CLUB! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Jogging Hiking Club had an Amazing Race this afternoon and IT WAS SUCCESSFUL! :D

We had several meeting for this amazing race, having some complications and all. But anyway, :) STILL A BIG THANKYOU FOR EVERYONE WHO INVOLVED!

We've planned for 10 booths of different colours and each colours have different games! :D Which altogether, the juniors were divided into groups and each group with 6 students. They were asked to search for our booths around the school and if they're able to answer or do what they were asked to, they will be given a yellow sticker and proceed to other booth. Ofcourse, there are time limitation so the students have to run or jog while searching so they can win! :)

However, I haven't receive the pictures since the event was this afternoon. So I hope Nawi or Hazmey will upload it soon!

:) Last but not least, HAPPY HOLIDAY! :D Stay fit for the rest of the week and see you guys soon! :D

Today! I am just going to brief you jogging enthusiasts that tomorrow 11th February 2010, there will be a jogging session. :)
Attendance is compulsory, unless you have a reasonable reason (true no?) that you can be absent without being punished. (brijap)

Anyway :)
Just to inform a few more points!

First of all, members of the club in 2009.
I do not know why, but for some unknown reason some of the members appear to be missing. This is very worrisome so we the committee would want you to confirm your loyalty or your leave.
We do not mind, as long as you meet these two ladies who are FARAH SANI (AE 20) or MAUZIRA HAMID (AE7) to confirm yourself because it is sad to see a lot of absentees without a reason sometimes :( (we feel lonely HAHAHA kiddin')
:) It will be really nice if you co-operate with us for a while and everybody would be happy!

Secondly,
NEW MEMBERS!
Yes permanent members, GENG, let's invite some new members!
To people who are interested in joining the club,
please! WELCOME! :D
All you have to do is attend every session and meeting.
The weekly session which occurs every Thursday afternoon from 3 pm till 4.30 pm happens at the school's Arena under the hot sun!
Well, not necessarily.
Then we will have Hiking the next day or during the weekends on either Bukit Shahbandar/ Tasek Lama or might as well somewhere far away (vertically and horizontally, if you get what I mean) :)

ASSALAMUALAIKUM! :D FS didn't attend the Jogging Hiking Club today. :p We were climbing Bukit Shahbandar AS ALWAYS but this time until Bukit 16! :D Although I, AHM, :p didn't join them sampai kesana. :)

From bukit ke 3, we seperated. Teacher Rosneh went down bringing some of the teachers who didnt want to join up to the 16th hill. Syam and Fatin lead us to the 9th hill and Mr. Lim lead to the 16th hill. The weather was wet. Haa. Im not sure how to tell you readers.

But anyho, Thanks to the members and teachers who came. Pictures as always taken by Nawi Othman and another photographer, Mui'nuddin Ibrahim. Its a good idea tho, Nawi who climbed the 16th hill and Mui'n who joined us to the 9th hill. So we can still view the pictures from the two groups. :) Unfortunately, our new gang (monkeys) wasnt around today due to the wet environment, MAYBE! :D

HELLO jogging hiking members. :) Well, as you know. Jogging Hiking blog was on hiatus. but WE'RE BACK! :D

And just started yesterday at ptek track. :) I wonder why some of the member who signed for the club didnt come, come on, lets get healthy! I can count how many female members were there. :) Hope next week will be more fun. And challenging. HEHE.

We had another activity! :D it was at Bukit Bujang Pahang. Pulau Berambang. An island which is located at the Brunei Bay. Some Geography students also joined the trip with us. Alhamdulilah, punctuality was very good this time as most of us came on time. We all gathered at the droppoint to wait for the bus to arrive to take us to Kg Pintu Malim. We then used the Moe's boat to get to Pulau Berambang. From there, we used the local bus to get to Bukit Bujang Pahang. Before we start hiking, our one and only Boo, Nurkhairi read the surah Al-fatihah and a brief from the president about our safety. The hiking was tiring but not too extreme compared to the sixth hill at Shahbandar. We visited the cave, coal mines and also the legendary Bukit Batu Bepangkat along the way. Everyone enjoyed themselves termendously I shall say! :D

Our upcoming activity will be a TRIP to Bukit Patoi, Temburong next term, Alrighhhhhhhttt! :D

Bukit Shahbandar

I'm terribly sorry for the late update. Hehehe.

So anywaaayyyyyy....

On the 31st May 2009, Jogging and Hiking Club launched another activity (as always) at Bukit Shahbandar. We took the challange to climb up to the 16th hill. We started with some warming up and the reading of Surah Al-fatihah. Then we climbed the hills. Apakan? Haha. Sufi was elected to be the Waterboy at the back. At hill number 5, we divided ourselves into three groups and finished climbing within 2 hours. Cikgu Rosneh (incharged teacher) was very surprise with it. And congratulation guys!

A trip to Bukit Bujang Pahang (Approved yo! Hahah)

CCA for two days in a week. Wednesday and Thursday. Those who cant come on Wednesday, can come on Thursday. Get healtier if you come on both days. Get it? Hahah. Okay that's lame. Means that you also can come on both days.

We had a meeting yesterday and it was about

1. Our hiking t-shirt : $20 per person (kalilah ah)

2. Comittee election : Jackie a.k.a Cranky, Hisyam a.k.a Kura, Husaini a.k.a Siput, Ruziman a.k.a Gman, Azmina, Farah, Lyana and lots more.

And as usual every Wednesday we have a training at the school arena ALRIGHT? HEHE.

Tasek Lama

Today the knocker's hiking and jogging club launched another activity but this time it is not official, held at Tasek Lama. It was very fun (seriously), this is all because of the 'crack' commitee, haha. Me and my friends went there early just incase if any of the members "awal datang". We thought kami yang awal datang, rupanya ada lagi yang awal datang ani, haha. patuttah kami ani inda nampak. rupanya tempat lain bah durang ani menunggu ani. anywaaayyyy, after semua datang. we start the activity with some strecthing strecthing, haha, yang di ketuai oleh Mohammad Sufi, eseh, haha! then i ordered three boys to guard the girls from the back. I had to lead them to the hills because ada yang 'first time' ke Tasek Lama. It was fun, Haha, majal. yang calinya 'bob' (bukan nama sebenar) haha. ia berjalan perlahan banar wah. Orang tua kan lalu dipampannya, serious lagi tu usulnya. and ada lagi tu yang dating. Anyway the hills were tough enough for the girls and some boys too. After we finished hiking, we all (inda pulang semua) went to the waterfall and take pictures there. After that we went to the playground. macam iski tia semua bemain. inda lagi ingat dunia. haha. It was a success and fun and thankyou to those yang datang tadi and hope the next activity will be more extreme and fun.

Pusat Tingkatan Enam Katok has launched their Hiking and Jogging club first activity which venued at Bukit Shahbandar. God, it was 'SIUK BERABIS!' me and several of my friends went there early to make sure we went there at on time. But we arrived 'too early' that we're the first to come. While waiting for the other members, we 'surveyed' the playground. :) HAHA. Alhamdulillah, more than 40+ of the members came. The amount was so unexpected.

The activity started with the reciting of 'Al-fatihah' and continued with a warming up session with Hanif (i'm writing this! HAHA). Before we started hiking, our president, Dullah, reminded us to be aware of the jungle. 5 commitees was elected to watch the girls. So, we came last in the line. While the boys, Sufi was told to lead the way since he's experienced.

The first hill was tiring enough, SERIOUSLY! hahaha. We're supposed to walk up to 5hills, but i've made it till 4. Me and the selected commitee were told to lead some of the girls back down the hill and i have no idea what the other boys did in the 5th hill. We've made it and gladly to say, the activity was a SUCCESS!

Thanks to the members who attended and for your cooperation. Also a huge appreciation to Mr. Lim and some several male teachers that came. You're well appreciated, although there's some comment about our fitness condition and 'time punctuality'
